Although the state hosts a considerable number of medical colleges, with 66 in total, only 21 of them are government institutions, constituting less than one-third of the total. Conversely, the remaining 45 medical colleges are private institutions, collectively offering 7,745 seats for admission. Notably, 3,200 government medical seats will be available in Karnataka in 2023.
